Substitute fuel hose

I located the fuel smell to the fuel hose in the picture. I got the biggest sticker shock in my life, when the Mazda dealer priced it at $168!!!!!! One hundred and sixty eight US dollars...

So the question is, can I just substitute a regular fuel hose for the part?

It's part N3A1-13-496, goes from the primary to secondary injector fuel rail...

anyone?

You can get high pressure fuel line andin order to make the tight curve with out kinking the line closed . You ask how do do that ? Get thin wall tube ( steel brake line and bend a curve in it with a tubing bender . Then cut it to length, oil it and push it in to the rubber hose ( hard to do ) ,make your connections and you have saved $ 168 . This was done 4or 5 years ago and was still good when removed to go to a custom rail .

cant you just get a steel braided hose with a banjo bolt on the end? in ancase, can you believe it cost 180 bucks for a fpd

Oh yes, that's the part Shawn... $168. I think I'll just replace it with a HP fuel hose, the bend isn't too sharp so I dont expect it to kink.

This was one of the recalls that Mazda performed. I think you should bite the bullet and get one. Call Ray Crowe and ask him for it. I think he is cheaper then that price.

I think I sold mine for like $10. There have to be alot of people who have replaced their rails that have this laying around. Make a WTB post for it in the 3rdgen classified section and you should find one.

Thanks for the tip guys.

Assuming that my car hasn't done the recall, would the dealer fix my modified car? It has a few reliability mods, most drastic of all: non-seq.
