I am going to get a front strut bar soon by Cusco. It gives the option of Oval shaped or D shaped. What are the differences and advantages of each other?

 

Will a D shaped even fit?

 

So should I go with oval?

 

The style indicates the cross sectional shape of the metal. I think the d is stronger.

 

I hope so. I have got my Cusco D 40PHi brace on order at the moment.

If Cusco says it fits, I'll take their word for it.

Difference between the 2 bars is the oval has blue ends and the D has silver.

I got the D-shape - fits and works great

 

The bar is loaded in tension, cross section shape doesn't really matter, the area of the cross section does. The stock R1/R2 bar is steel which is about 3X stiffer than aluminum with the same cross sectional area.

 

Buy the one that looks the best to you. If it fits right, the performance differences wont't be measureable, and you won't be able to tell the difference.
