Thanks billy boy, I'll look into it.

Kaaz sounds like the right diff. for autoX, with 30mm chrome-molly axles, but no super sticky slicks for drags, just stick with semi-slicks. Sound good?

what engine and trans do you have in the car?
It's a 408ci SLP sub-*** with AFR heads and a toyota supra gearbox

That combo sounds like jibirish to me haha! Damn, if you had said apex, 13B-REW, torsen lsd I would have understood. The only thing I took from your post was toyota supra. Sorry james, me and my damn rotor brain...

Badd7, have you launched really hard on street tires, drag radials or slicks with your brace? Or has anyone you made one for, launched really hard making atleast 420+ whp? When I say launch hard, meaning any launch from a dead stop with a nice stick tire and dropping the clutch at atleast 6-8k...

I've been using a new TII diff with my LS1, hp shown below. The stock torsen did not last long on just motor at 420 rwhp/390 ft-lb before it started to make noise and the slop in the diff became excessive. I never ran the stock diff on the juice because of fear of 600+ ft-lbs.

I will be adding a diff case cradle in the near future and perhaps some upgraded halfshafts. I run a custom fixed diff brace (see pic) rather than a torque arm, the diff is rigidly connected to the chassis using the original points on the diff that the ppf connected to, the chassis is beefed up at the connection points, still using the stock upper diff bracket with upgraded Mazdaspeed bushings (read not solid bushings) to keep it from being overconstrained. Working well so far and the only time it's ever wheel hopped has been at the drag strip while cleaning off the rears.

With your car I would be a worried about traction too, I hope you have some 315-335 stickies for the rears or you will never get full throttle during autox.

Since you already switched to the V8, you don't have to keep the stock IRS like I do to run the street class. That being said, get the Ford 8.8 cobra rear setup. Its much stronger. You can run multiple ring and pinion ratio's to go with your v8 setup. It will suit your needs much better. You make alot of torque which can and will break alot of drivetrain parts, so anything you can do to swap out the factory stuff, the better off you'll be.

I just remembered this thread... https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...t=differential . I think if I were to auto-x I would use the stock differential! I knew I read it somewhere.
