Strange One.... Maybe Apexi FC related?

One of my FD's I have is a twin turbo rebuilt by pip @ wgt (one of the best rotary builders in the uk) about 2K miles ago. It's basically stock apart from street port, power fc, filters & cat back exhaust. I dont get to use it much but took it out today for the first time in a few weeks. (It's had a full service last month)

I went to the shops and it was performing well. After I come back to it after i'd been the shops I pulled out of the car park onto a round about, the car bucked a couple of times popping and banging, with the cat heat light flashing at the same time. This happend for a second maybe two seconds at the most then the car appeared to be fine again. I grabbed the commander to check that everything appeared normal but the screen was blank.

I drove the next 7 miles home fine without a problem, I pulled into my house and went to inspect the connection as I removed the plastics surrounding the ecu the commander fired up (must of worked it's way loose), but the car sounded like it had been re-started (dipped really low, without cutting out, then fired back up again). I switched the engine off and unplugged the commander. Tried to start the car again and it fired up fine.

So my question is do you think the minor popping and cat heat light was a result of the commander being slightly loose from the ecu? To be honest I wouldnt of thought plugging it in and out would of had any bearing on the car whatsoever?? Or should I start looking to see if there is any other problems starting??
