Stock TT and boosting

I was just wondering how much can you possible boost safely on the twin turbos without blowing them up or the engine? I heard that each stock trubo has the possiblity of a 15 lbs each??

I believe that anything over stock boost hurts the turbos since they were designed for 10 psi or a little less
If you want the life of the turbos to be almost like normal I would stick from 10-12 psi

The motor can take rediculous amounts of boost safely if you provide enough fuel. 20 something is what single turbo guys run when they want to be at their fastest and I've heard even more than that.

good luck

Without an ecu = max of 10 psi

With an ecu =
running higher boost depends on your other mods, if you don't have an intake and less restrictive exhaust, you will melt your turbos trying to run higher boost.

For daily driving, 12 psi is probably the practical limit, assuming you have an intake, intercooler, downpipe, and cat-back. 14-15 psi is the limit for meaningful power increases, after that, the power doesn't increase much and you will kill your turbos quickly.

It is impossible to hit 420 hp at the wheels with the stock twins, I'm sure they meant 420 FLYWHEEL hp.

If you have a streetport, you could run 12 psi daily and have about 320-340 rwhp and it would be pretty reliable. You could always crank it up to 14-15 psi and be making 350-370 rwhp for racing (provided you have the fuel upgrades and tuning of course).

from what i hear don't go above 12 psi on stock fuel system and intercooler. The stock twins can handle up to around 15psi with fuel+IC upgrades but my guess is they wont last very long running that much boost

I remember reading about an FD that was featured in Import Tuner this month. It sucks for most thing (less oggling girls...last month's cover girl has a monster rack - check it out ) but everynow and then I can get some looks a silvia or two. Anyways, this month had a riced out FD in it, and the tuner company said that the car produced about 420whp on the stock twins at 15psi. So im thinking....time to blow the bull#$*@ alarm, then I say who the tuner was......PFS and it all made sense, I just laughed.

thats the one , my friend is a honda boy. We were chillin at his house after class when he showed me the magazine, he was like you like RX-7s, there is a PHAT one in there. I took one look at it and laughed....this thing is a POS I said. Then I had to read the article so I could informatively flame it , those honda boys .....
[no offense to you honda boys that actually know about the workings of a car, and have taste of course ]
