10, 8, 10 is pretty much accurate for a good running stock FD.

According to Mazda:

rpm psi
3,000 10
4,500 8 (as 2d turbo comes on)
4,500+ 10 (recovers almost immediately)
6,000+ 8 (and holds to redline)

but most people see only 10-8-10

10 is normal. Some report 11, but not many.

Sometimes on cold days I see 13. Is there something wrong? Should I be worried? Or am I just lucky. Maybe my boost gauge is wrong?

These are the mods I have.

M2 radiator
K&N drop in air filter

These should effect boost should they?

Those shouldn't effect boost, maybe 1psi at very most.

The K&N filter will increase boost just a touch, but this cold weather will make it go up. I hit 14 this morning. Felt great, but with a stock ECU, the engine will not like it. Having a Defi gauge helps me monitor this situation. Any more than 14 and your stock ECU will shut you down for a second or two.

I would have rather had 13psi then my boost leak. Any car will spike more on cold days, as long as it's just a spike and doesn't hold at 13 you should be fine. Try to make your next mod a boost controller to be on the safe side.
