Thanks, that's appreciated. But the pictures are flattering, my car is really nothing special compared to most.
I have a little of the same groove issue, but not enough to cause problems. I keep it greased.
As long as it doesn't suck the hood down too much no worries. But I wonder if a little weld could be added to those hooks and then filed down.

Might be a little extra work and not to everyones taste, but it works. My hood doesn't move at all
