Stock compression tube plastic and metal version?

Hi guys,

Just trying to go figure out if the stock compression tubes came in metal or plastic.

It looks as though it came in both.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks.

When wife returns from jury duty today I will be sure to look for our '94's compression tubes. Should be fun!

All the oem compression tubes are plastic. The 1993 cars had them in silver. They were black from 1994 and on.

Thread jacking since the question was answered.

Is there any aftermarket alternative to the crappy stock primary turbo intake tube? The secondary is metal, but the primary is ribbed rubber

Primary turbo intake is plastic on all models - varies in taper and diameter between S6 and S8 for a bit of useless information!

SP models did replace the flex bellow between the airbox and that intake with a carbon piece, still need to use a pair of rubber couplers (as used for rear turbo or the turbo discharge outlet?), not sure it would co-operate with a stock airbox, but it is available...at a price.

To add to this, Series 8 tubes are black plastic and do not have the ACV huge nipple on the backside, makes for a cleaner install on cars that have that piece deleted

And to add to the info, HKS made a cast aluminum replacement without the AWS.

The HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Kit replaces the entire primary turbo inlet elbow, but it is pricey.
