Question Stock BOV concern

Hey guys, I was wondering if the BOV is supposed to "blow" air out at idle??
I have an Apexi intake and I decided to vent my BOV today to get the "whoosh" sound and when I started the car up to warm it up(no AWS), the BOV was blowing out air.
Also while driving around I didn't get any kind of BOV sounds b/t shifts but I could hear it venting air out as I gave it gas and it vented a little more when I let off the gas(kinda quite though).
Is it broken??

Tell me what you guys think.
Thanks Justus
(I did a lot of searching already )

I haven't had the funds to get a boost guage but I will be getting one next month, so I don't know, but it seems to be fine. . . .
I also am not getting any kind of BOV sound b/t shifts which I thought was really weird.

Justus, that's fine. It is suppose to blow out air at vacuum, that's sortta what it's there for. You should hear the BOV only when you are letting out the gas on boost.

The valve opens with vacuum so when you are running fast and close the throttle you get vacuum, woosh . To bad that when you are idling the car is under vacuum and the valve is open and does not need to be open. Now here is the question, when you are idleing the vacuum is at 16 street ported to 18 -19 stock. when you are at high rpm ,5000-7000 lets say and you close the throttle what does the vacuum go down to ??? Here is why I ask,if the vacuum goes really low like 22-24then we should increase the spring pressure in the valve so that it is closed when the car is idleing and that air is not wasted and the low end responce is improved. Any way what does the vacuum read when you shut the throttle from high rpm. This is something my mechanic is looking into to improve low end .

make sure that the vacuum hose from the BOV is connected to the nipple on the upper intake manifod.

maybe it's plugged in to something else.

THE valve will be open at idle ,it is made that way ,but not needed to be open then. The spring is so weak that it opens at very very low vacuum. that does not help us with low end torque . Your car is ok . I am asking because if we change the spring we may pick up the low end.

YES that is already on the greddy elbow but what if we can change the stock ones to work better because they are plastic and fast reactting. and we already have them. in place ,if you go non seq then you can do the same thing with the pre spool vent valve and have two bov for free that work better than stock. Free is good yes, working better than stock is good, yes.
