Sticky starter

The unknown age starter, which probably isn't a Bosch, doesn't always catch the first time I hit the key. Sometimes I'll need to hit it three or four times before the Bendix finally engages enough to close the starter motor circuit. While I was under the car last time I did check the cables and they were sufficiently tight.

Next steps? Old man can't brain today.....

Look into buying or building a starter booster -

Banzai Racing 50 Amp Starter Relay Kit

We call this the "click-click-start" problem. I had it on my car for ages, tried EVERYTHING in the circuit. Finally built a starter relay and haven't looked back.

If you do this yourself, use a weathertight relay. It will be exposed to the elements and that can kill a unsealed relay very quickly.
