Starter fun.. will a FD Starter work on my TII?

My friend has an extra FD starter, just curious if this'll work otherwise, i'll go pick up a reman for my 89...

i looked it up, its a different part number. I dont think it will work.

call mike and see how much a starter is. 650-274-6414. Dont get a pep boys starter, they fail. They may have a free replacement, but its a bitch to change.

I've had a Pep Boys starter for 2 years, and it has worked well, although I probably just jinxed myself.

Before you shell out a pile of money it is worth taking a look at the brushes in your starter motor.They tend to wear out.Symptoms are gradually degraded starter performance(like the battery is down),then eventually the starter will not turn.It takes about 10 minutes to change them and they cost about $5 from Mazda.
