stereo place broke my door lock

im soo pissed right now

well anyways i got a deal with JL for a sponsoship and they gave me some equipment for my car

the catch was that i had to get it installed else where but i said im down with that ( )

welll theres an al and ed's by my place and decided to go with them since they are well known

well before i gave them the car i made sure everything worked and perfeormed correctly

so i left my baby there and 2 hrs later they call me up and they said that my alarm wont lock both doors, they had to check the cAR OVER before intallin the new equipment

and up[on removing the dorr panel they said they found a wire had broke of the rod

i was like WTF??????

i know that wasnt broken before i gave them the car, and me and the manager went at it and ultimately they gave me a discount on the instal plus pay for damages

heres some pics

has anyone had this happen??

any ideas how to fix?? i tried takin off the cable but no luck

help plz???

I don't know how to fix it but no al & eds installer that's touched any of my cars have ever been competant and done work without contibuting damage of their own.

You should have went to http://www.sounds-good-stereo.com/about.html cause they do all the pro sound off contest installs. If you had to pick a generic chain shop, you shoulda went with Tweeters or superautobacs.

That's been a fairly common problem when you install the actuators that pull too hard on the cable. You're going to have fun replacing that cable.

This happend to me also. I just ended up using JB Weld. It lasted for a few weeks before it broke again though. It might be possible to solder it together or maybe weld it. Good luck!

I was gonna install automatic door locks when I arm/disarm the alarm. However, the guy at the alarm place said they tried on a FD before, and broke the cable. So, I decided not to get automatic locks. I think this is a fairly common problem for FDs, there's something different about the automatic locks

I was looking into getting the automatic lock w/ my alarm also. Did a little research and found out that what happend to you is very common. I was told that the solution was an actuator that you can only get in Japan, I never did find out if it's even possible to get it here. In the end I just steered clear and to be honest I'm glad I did.
