Steering Weirdness...

So I had my FD aligned a few months ago ago and a few weeks ago my steering wheel got crooked somehow. Car still drives straight and is aligned but the steering wheel isn't. Don't know if its related to the alignment or not and all connections on the column are tight. Whats the easiest way to fix it? Loosen the connections on the steering column and get it as straight as possible?

Thanks

The alignment shop should also be able to fix that issue, but depending on how far it is off...you might be able to take the steering wheel off and reset it. This isn't a 100% chance fix as you can only adjust depending on the "teeth" on the hub. Best of luck.

If it was centered and changed on it's own, that's a good indication the alignment has changed.

It would be prudent to have it checked out.

This.

Kept happening to me racing. I bought the Mazda new design "supersession" adjusting cam bolts/nuts and it still happened.

I finally got the car aligned, marked the positions, took it apart without moving the lower arm (there is some slop in the bolt to eccentric washer), cleaned everything with brake cleaner and used locktight between the subframe and eccentric washers as well as the bolt and nut when I put it back together.

That has worked so far *crosses fingers*

------
Very rarely the whole steering rack shifts in worn out bushings causing the same issue. Also had this happen.

This is more of a car has been raced on slicks most its life or caught air and landed front first with the steering wheel turned kind of problem.

You will be able to see a clean spot on the rack if it has shifted in the bushings.

on out current race miata, we have some fancy aftermarket cam bolts, it would fit an FD too. the cam bolts coming loose with sticky tires is pretty common.
