Stealership said $180 for FPD and $205 for FPR!! HELP!

Hey guys,

Yep, Went into the stealership today and boy was I in for a shock.. which I usually should be aware of. I thought I saw someone say that they got a Fuel Pulsation Dampner for 50 bucks at a dealer. So I was like ok.. not so bad.

I walk in, and the dealership wants $180 for the fuel pulsation dampner
For the fuel pressure regulator they want $205 for it!

Holy MOLY!

Does any one know where I can get new ones for cheaper? a mazda dealer online or something?

Any input on this would be very welcome...

Try Ray at Malloy Mazda. Just search his name on the forums and you'll find him. You could always go aftermarket fuel system.

FPDs have been over $100 for a few years now.

I bought a Mazda FPR new for $55 once (someone clearning them out on eBay) but again dealer price is much more.

If you need that FPR I might still have it, I never installed it.

From now on just call up Ray......I wish I could sticky this----he owns an FD, knows exactly what part you need, ships fast and cheap, stocks all FD parts, and offers like 40% off list price to club members

FWIW, Banzai Racing http://www.banzai-racing.com/ has an inexpensive how-to to delete the FPD in their Tech Section. Reportedly no ill effects and you'd never have to worry about it leaking again.

I understand why it is not stickied, I just agreed that it should be. one would think after years of him being able to sale products after someone posts his contact info, that he would be a site sponsor by now. What makes this different from bending the vendor rules here to the site? Anyhow just making a point, but I dont really care because the guy provides good service.

Ray is indeed awesome and I have bought many, many parts from him but...I have also had wonderful luck with my local dealer, the manager is a great guy and has a fondness for the FD.
Every time I go in, if I am driving the FD he comes out with his entire staff and drools on it.

The point is...sometimes you can find the damnedest things at a local dealer, who often has leftover stock he will 'deal' on.
