Starting the car!!??
Alright, this car is getting on my nerves. I just put in the pettit ecu. I have been driving it for about a week or so with that installed. Yesterday I tried to crank my car...I had a new battery and all the lights came on so that's not it. The starter seemed to be okay because the engine was turning over but it would not crank. What's my problem? It goes ccccccrrrrrrrrr...ummmmmm.... it fells like it is going to start but never does. Help please!!
Thanks

I hate to say this to you but I just had this problem last Thursday. I could crank on the car all I wanted and it wouldn't start. I finally gave up and tried it the next day and it cranked immediately but this time it came with a ton of smoke and the roughest idle I have ever felt. It is now at Rotorsports Racing having the engine rebuilt. I can't say for sure that this is what your problem is but I have since found the reason that a recently blown engine won't fire. It is because there is no compression in the engine and therefore won't have the proper ratios of air and fuel. I sure hope this isn't the problem with yours but I wouldn't doubt that it is because I have heard that this is the way they blow sometimes. Good Luck!

Before going nuts thinking the engine is toast, did you check the following?
1) Engine getting fuel
2) Engine getting spark

I am having the EXACT same problem and it just seemed to happen the first very cold morning we had this year.
It had been running great, I parked it for 2 days, then tried to start it the first frosty morning we had. Nothing.
I disconnected the plug wire and turned the key, so there is spark.
Did the same with the fuel line and it definately shot some fuel, but I'm still left with a non working rx in my driveway.
I still think it has something to do with fuel delivery.
Please Please Please let me know what you find out.
Thanks

APEX SEALS BRO
APEX SEALS BRO..............
That says it all. If your car runs good-great and
you turn it off even for a minute. Then you go
to crank it and it wont start. APEX SEALS. The
only way a rotor engine would be flooded is if you
opened up the intake and poored about a gallon
of gas in it. BUT i think it would still start. ONE
last thing I have noticed anytime I or a buddy
have or change **** on our 7`s then give it a few
days to work its way in........
