Could be grounding problems? Mine will click a few times before it engages the starter. But once it does the battery is strong and so is the starter. Starter turns fast and the car fires up. You can also get you starter tested at an auto parts store for like... free.

Maybe something to do with you brake lights.

if it clicks it's usually low voltage, i.e, battery/alternator/wiring related

I am having the same problem, except mine doesn't make any noise, it just sits there, and then like on the 3rd try it starts up.

I think it is a ground problem. I have searched this site and may people explain the same thing.

With mine. You can hear a click, the dash lights are on and dim slightly (you can tell there is some electrical load) but it does not engage the starter. You can also hear your fuel pump turn on. Turn the key off and then back on and it may fire that time. Do this two three and maybe four times and then it fires.

I need to replace my grounds, right now I just deal with it.

with the clicking its usually not the clutch switch but for the guy above with no sound at all it might be that

i would check the clutch switch

i has a similar problem and checked everything later i had a friend check it and it was the clutch switch, i wouldnt rule the other problems out..just replace and fix all possible causes that way you wont have to worry about it later.

its probally the ignition switch or clutch switch. if the starter turns, its probally good. if you want, you might wanna take out the starter and rebuild it (its pretty easy as only 1 bolt and it bolt+nut are holding it on, just make sure to disconnect the battery cables from the battery before you take it out or jack up the rear of your car as well or you might run yourself over...) pics in the fsm are of the auto version, if you wnat the pics for a manual starter (dissassembled) check out hte parts fische at iluvmyrx7.com
