Squeeking hood!!!

Holy ****, I cant take it anymore. It squeeks over any bump. I went out and bought some lithium grease (got white on accident) and put that on each rubber stub, the latch, and where it connects to the car. Fixed that job, I was so damn happy. But after 5 minutes of driving it came back. WTF do I do to make it stop!

Put some rubber washers under the 4 rubber stops around the hood (cut the washers and slide them in place) and put some tape around the U bolt on the hood. Worked for me...

I feel your pain. A squeaky hood can drive you nuts. I was just discussing this very issue with my wife. She mentioned that my car didn't "squeak"anymore. I thanked her for this astute observation, and reminded her that she's ruined my life.
As for the squeak...Here's what worked for me. I lubed and tightened the four nuts holding the hood on(two on each side). Then I lithiumed greased the latch like there was no tomorrow. Then I glued the rubber stops to the car so they wouldn't keep rotating. It's worked like a charm so far.

I didn't use lithium grease, I use Mobil synthetic grease -- it's purple and comes in a tube (like for a grease gun). I have to reapply it to the four rubber stops and the latch every 3 months or so.

Try the small rubber rounds for furniture legs. They already have sicky on one side. put them on the Hood side where they meet the rubber stoppers. Takes a day or so for the rubber to make a good dent in the rounds, but it stops the squeeeeeeeks immediatly.

Lubed the hood hinges w/ wd40 and used electirical tape on the U-bolt. This has held up for four months so far...

fixed it!

I went to the local auto store and went to the HELP! section. Got a power brake check vavle gommet. Took it cut it in half and the cut another part so I could open it. Jammed them underneath the two driver side rubber things, and VOILA no more squeeks. Work like a charm...

This is the way to fix it...just wrap electrical tape around the hook that latches in the front...

Sqeaking hood

Mazda has changed the hood stops in the front adding a half of inch to the material. Totally resolves the problem

Don't use WD-40. It's not a form of grease, it's really a solvent. The tape seems to be the thing that's working.
