Carbon is expensive, and they include the brackets to bolt right into an FD3S. Add to that the fact that they're somewhat rare, and I'd say they're worth about $1k per seat. Takeoff seats from JDM Subarus (which are also made by Recaro) sell for about $1k per set, but they're not made with carbon/kevlar.
Whether anyone can justify spending that much on seats before upgrading other components, that's up to the individual to decide. Personally I think the factory cloth seats are pretty nice, and I'm not willing to spend that much money for that amount of weight savings.
Does anyone know the exact weight of those seats, either with or without brackets? I'm guessing these seats are in the neighborhood of 10-13 lbs each w/o brackets, and brackets are another 10-15 lbs each.

The RZ and Spirit R seat rails can ONLY be obtained from Mazda Japan, at a hefty pricetag too...
