Guess who's going Bridgeport? Going to try out Demetrious's R85 kit and a half bridge at 15 psi. Should be fun.

Man, those are so nice. A perfect fit too... I just wish they were a tad less expensive, lol.

What on earth makes those seats cost $1K+!? As ptrhahn pointed out that's like an upgraded turbo(s)...

Carbon is expensive, and they include the brackets to bolt right into an FD3S. Add to that the fact that they're somewhat rare, and I'd say they're worth about $1k per seat. Takeoff seats from JDM Subarus (which are also made by Recaro) sell for about $1k per set, but they're not made with carbon/kevlar.

Whether anyone can justify spending that much on seats before upgrading other components, that's up to the individual to decide. Personally I think the factory cloth seats are pretty nice, and I'm not willing to spend that much money for that amount of weight savings.

Does anyone know the exact weight of those seats, either with or without brackets? I'm guessing these seats are in the neighborhood of 10-13 lbs each w/o brackets, and brackets are another 10-15 lbs each.

I've seen them in hand and lifted.. Its really light.. I have to say about 30-40% lighter than stock.... but of course no rails were attatched.. So, maybe it wasn't that much lighter.. It was FDnewbies seats.

They're 10.5 - 11lbs a seat, minus the rails. I'd be more exact, but that's about how accurate my kitchen scale is lol

Yea...I was about to say. Recaro JAPAN makes FD-specific brackets, and that's the only place you can get them. That doesn't mean they'll line up w/ these RECARO seats tho... (go figure lol).

The RZ and Spirit R seat rails can ONLY be obtained from Mazda Japan, at a hefty pricetag too...
