Not accurate. Though they are fixed buckets they do tilt on the oem rails. If you mean independent from the seat cushion, no. That doesn’t make them “POOR!!!!!” Because a fixed bucket is much stronger and safer, it just makes them not your cup of tea .

I very often agree with Chuck with his plethora of information but sorry Chuck this time i will have to disagree😅

some fixed bucket seats are far from comfortable and some are actually very comfortable. You gotta find the one that you feel most comfortable in. Considering that i have 6 titanium spinal hardware and soon to receive more i have found bucket seats that are actually super comfortable and i feel safer taking turns harder than any other non bucket seat.
its not like you adjust your seat every time you get in the car

It all depends on your body configuration.
My stock R1 seats caused me right thigh pain on trips over a hour.
With my leather Corbeau adjustable seats, I had to raise the rear .5" due to too much thigh compresssion , move the seat all the way forward, and luckily the rake was adjuastable.

My legs/thighs are short compared to my torsel, and because of many years of cycling from my youth; my legs/thighs are thicker.

I have a weird body shape.

Based on this alone, nobody should ever give money to these people. There is no reason at all a carbon part should take over a year to ship. Do not normalize this. If it's going to take over a year, then you should be on a wait list and shouldn't be charged.

I will be very surprised if you ever get your seats, or your money back. PayPal, credit cards, etc all have a time limit for fraud protection and you are way over that.
I finally received the seats. They look great! Not sure if I will ever use them though as I found a set of real Recaro RZ seats while I was waiting for those!

Please, please do a side by side comparison. Weight, thickness, cloth, everything. I promise you will get a shitload of views, and we all want to know how they hold up against the real thing!

Do it. Become a Legend.

As in depth as possible please. A ton of us are interested but hesitant to pull the trigger. Flex, weight, material, etc. Wish I could see them in person

I snapped some pictures yesterday. I must say, overall the quality of the seats appear to be up there with the Recaros, but that is difficult to say for certain because I will likely never have them mounted on the rails and never take them out for a spin.

Here are my impressions of the Angry Panda seats:

-Bucket seat - the weave is nice and similar to the original, but the fibers are a little thicker. the pattern of the weave is very similar if not the same.

Angry Panda on the right:

Angry Panda

Recaro:

- Fabric - the Angry Panda fabric appears to be a heavier material compared to what I have on my Recaros. I am using new replica seat covers though, that are not the original. The replicas covers that I have are similar to the original though. The stitching is high quality.

Recaro:

Angry panda:

Angry Panda on the right:

- Bolstering - The Angry Panda seats really really hug you. It is probably because it has new foam on the seat, but it really pinches your lat area, much more so than the Recaros, but then again, my Recaros are over 20 years old, and the foam isn't quite what it used to be.

- Weight - The Panda seats are significantly heavier compared to the Recaros. There is about a 6.5 pound difference.

Panda

Recaro

- Flex/Stiffness - both seats feel about the same, but that's hard to gauge just by sitting in them on the floor.

- Other stuff - the seatbelt guide. The Angry Panda seat uses the OEM seatbelt guide, but it is held in place by a screw through the bucket seat, and does not feel as secure as the original set up. This is my only real issue with the seat.

Panda (you cannot tell much from the pic, but the seatbelt guide has a loose feeling to it.

Recaro

Overall these seem like a good and cheaper alternative to the originals. The only thing I don't like is the seatbelt guide, and I am sure you could just order it without the guide.

Well, you have my interest. At almost 19 pounds that's a much heavier seat than the originals, but likely a bit stronger than their first round of seats so probably a good thing. Someone, somewhere, allegedly said they have a metal frame inside of them and that's where the extra weight is, unless you can confirm that with a magnet, I can only say it's a rumor.

Much harder choice between these and the Tillet B8s now..

Thanks for doing a direct comparison

I took a magnet to the seat. It did not stick anywhere.

Wow,

The angry panda seats look great. If I didn't already own a pair of Spirit R seats, I would for sure buy these because the prices of the real seats are insane. Thank you for sharing pictures; I'm sure this thread will help many people in the future.

Thanks for the pictures and comparison. With this I might gravitate towards to the Recaro pole position Abe, as the Recaro pole position Abe are certified for track. Set of spirit r are just too crazy expensive and old. I believe the angry panda copy cats are not certified. Even though from your pictures they are so close in comparison.

The original seats are too old to pass tech. While they were made as "track" seats, I'm not sure they were ever officially certified for anything other than street use

The originals are cool. But if you are spending big money on seats, would look at Recaro SPX with carbon backs. Reclinable buckets that look awesome. If you must have fixed backs. Go for the Recaro Podium.

I hadn't seen those. Kind of like a less extreme version of the podium. They look nice

Has anyone yet to confirm fitment of Recaro SPX seats into an FD? Also speaking of SPX seats, the Sparco SPX seats are nice looking carbon backed, reclining seats too, unsure about their fitment into an FD!

Unfortunately, I cannot. When I picked up the seats from Fritz years back they came with them. Your best bet would be the Japanese auctions. It’s possible you can score a set there. Others may be able to chime in with some options though.
