speedo and odometer not working

My speedo and odometer were randomly not working today on the way home and then magically started working again....any suggestions??

if it was the whole cluster id say check the ground ontop the fuel pump assembly (black spade)

if just the speedo stopped working id say check speedsensor/wiring clip on the tranny.

if the odo stopped displaying and the tack stopped but all the rest of the cluster was working, next time it happens give the hood a tap/whack and see if it comes back up, if it does chances are a solder cracked on the board.

thanks bacon....it is just the speedo not working....miles display but dont change....probably due to the speedo not working....ill chk the sensors on the trans....any suggestions on which is the speed sensor??

Yes it is the one on the passenger side of the rear gearbox housing,fastened with a small stud.
