Speedo with IC-7 dash

Has anyone figured out how to connect the Speedo into the IC-7 dash or is the only option to use the GPS module?

You need to get the reluctor signal from the OEM VSS in the trans to the cluster. Essentially you need signal ground from the EMS out to the trans speed sensor and the signal return to the cluster. If you can read wiring diagrams and have the right pins for the factory connectors, you can terminate new wires and repin the stock connector down by the ECU.

So from what I understand the signal goes through the cluster and is sent back to the ECU, so the cluster can be bypassed by splicing these wires together? I've found the link below for an IC-7 install and that's exactly how they say to do it as well. I'm running a link G4X ecu
