I am putting a set of Flex Z’s on my FD, OEM 16” wheels and 235 50 tires. I am installing them with Teins recommended settings as far as height, I shouldnt have to roll the fenders should I? They are supposed to sit with the top of the arch 25” from the ground. Also, FD’s seem to be notorious for sitting high in the rear, should I lower the rear a little more?
If you follow the instructions it will work out okay. Ultimately, I raised my car about 10mm above the Tein setting, just personal preference. I also found my left front corner to be slightly lower than the right, so that got adjusted also. Nice thing is that the height adjustments are very easy to do on the car. Just be sure to follow the tightening torque specification for the adjustment collars, it is tighter than you might think.
I finished the install to Tein specs and it seems to be fine, rides pretty good, I had fears it would ride like the Hondas I see bouncing down the road, but I’m pretty happy with it. I did notice the right side front and rear sits about a 1/4” higher so I will adjust that and torque to spec, thanks for the responses.
Here's my ride height (didn't ask for anything special aside from a standard install). The rear definitely seems high to me and I'm thinking about getting it adjusted. I installed a set of Flex Z's on my car a few months ago (hard to beat $600 for these). They're really soft and were bouncy at highway speeds until I increased the stiffness to max/near max (might be less of a problem on the straighter, flatter, wider highways in the US).
Currently at about 2-3 clicks off max stiffness and they feel pretty good. Softer would be nice for bad roads, but then they get worse at higher speeds. Ultimately they're similar to OEM but I wouldn't consider them an upgrade except for ride height adjustability if that's what you want.
