spark plug cleaning?

this guy with an FD i met said something about cleaning the spark plugs with this special stuff?

he noticed that there was a lot of smoke coming from my exhaust and said something about his friends rx7 not being able to run and then kd rotary told them to use this special stuff on the spark plugs to keep them clean from residue? im not sure what this is about perhaps someone could enlighten me?

also perhaps the smoke coming from my exhaust has something to do with the midpipe and me putting two stroke oil in the gas tank...

how much oil are you using to premix, smoke ususally means too rich or that your burning oil, unless its white which is bad :P

as far as cleaning your plugs go, i would think that that is worthless since our plugs burn up so quickly, if you pull them after like 6k you can see the diod is worn to hell.... i replace mine about every other oil change.

what if it is white? whats that mean?
i'll look and see what color the smoke is...

i'll try using less oil... im using like 1/2 oz for every gallon of 93...

i guess spark plugs in stock Fds last longer since its weaker then? tahts what the guy and his friend drive.

white smoke means that your burning coolant... you can usually smell it too.

My brother just got some after market ones. I think its worth it to just change them after they have given up. This way you also dont have to clean them.

green stuff 99% of the time coolent... its also possible it could be your ac system leaking.

btw 15 mins seems a little excessive to warm up the car...

15 minutes.. damn.. thats way too long to warm up your car..

I usually start and start driving it.. but DON'T Boost until your temp reaches normal.. I usually wait until 85C..
first 5 minutes or so, I turn into MRS. Grandma...

the only way i know of to clean a sparkplug thoroughly is by sticking it in the sandblaster. gets all the crud off. not worth it to me though. . . you need to inspect the crusch type gasket to make sure its still collapseable before reinstallation.

Get a spark plug cleaner from Harbor Freight.

Hooks up to an air hose and blasts 'em clean. Gets all the carbon and crud off of them and they look like new again.

Then wash 'em off nice and good with water or parts cleaner. Get them nice and dry and put 'em back in.
