something is seriously wrong!! help.... =(

ok, I posted about this before but now it's worse....I can't even go full throttle!!I ca only drive it accelerating normally!!

it won't boost past 6psi when WOT, and it feels so doggish like the car is completely dead and slowly accelerates through the rpm!!! =O(

....and when I let off the gas it makes a weird woosh sound like air coming out and then followed by a "whoo-er" sound, like some odd BOV, but I heard it under the car on the drivers side near the dash area. (you can only hear it when the windows are down).

I'm so frustrated!!!

It's hardly something "seriously wrong". You have a boost leak. Get under the hood and start looking!

but sometimes before when this started happening..... it would boost just fine....10-8-10....now recently it won't do normal boosting at all for the past day or so?? a boost leak would be permanent.....

also, I have my clamps so tight that I busted one recently (broke it) because I started cranking it down with a 10mm socket a few turns, and it busted (replaced, and only tuned a few less turns with a 10mm socket), so the couplers are on tight as can be....and the couplers are aftermarket....also the car has a vacuum silicone replacement job done, but i dunno how long ago....

also, the guy that had it before me was from Florida, it has no airpump, o the piping is exposed / open (is that going to harm anything?) also the BOV's are exposed to the atmophere when they go off, because it has a cold air intake.

Also, the motor has a streetport (it pulls like 11-12 vacuum at idle, so I'm guessing its a huge street port?) also it has a piggyback computer (PFsupercars.com) it is hooked up but not tuned right now 3" downpipe/midpipe, stock piping after the midpipe with a tanabe muffler welded in, underdrive pulleys....and I have a mbc to keep boost under control.

Things are not in a steady state. Entropy is ever increasing. You car is just following the laws of physics. It was good before, now it isn't. Your job is to fix it. Go!

Most likely something was failing while hot, and now is regularly failing. Use the turbo troubleshooting links in the FAQ thread. Unfortunately, with these types of problems, you have to start going through the turbo control system. Good luck.

11-12 inHg @ what RPM? If it's at 1000 or so RPM, that thing must be on the verge of stalling!!! Mine idles with 14-16 inHg at 1000 RPM with an "aggressive" street port (really depends on who ported your motor) and if it drops to 12, it feels like it's gong to die.

I dont like the sounds of it. You have a boost leak. Look for oil getting sprayed all over something and its near that. Pulling 11-12in at 1100 rpm sounds like bad compression to me...I pull 13+ at 900 with a streetport.

Im not really too sure on what the idle X vac is....I'll find out tomorrow and come back and report on here the exact idle rpm, and what the vacuum is at at that rpm....

Hey TrevorC,

I know we talked about your car before and I mentioned I could not help you with the PFS ECU, but if you want some help looking at this problem just give me a PM or a call.

Kyle
