Something Odd....idle probs.

Very odd. When I turn hard at parking lot speeds the idle rpm's jump to around 2500. What is up guys?

It happens at full tank. I know that there is something that increases rpm's when a load is put on the engine at idle. Like when the AC is switched on, or lights so the idle stays stable but mine is wacked and I dont know how to adjust it. If I turn very slow it does not rev up.

Yeah. Its called power steering, the more you turn or the faster you turn the more demand on power - change in idle. Try it when your still.

Do you hear any squeeking while turning? I wonder if your ps belt is slipping causing the idle to somehow free spin? Just a shot in the dark. Has it rained recently? Wetness can cause belts to slip. Or it may just be loose tension or old belt.

Gee Kevin, your attitude has really improved from the last posts I saw you involved in. Luneytune had a good suggestion actually. I think it's great that you come on here looking for advice and when someone gives it to you, you call them a ********. Please, continue to grace our forum with your presence.

Damn that was kinda jumpy, no need to get all hostile. I have kind of weird idle but it's more a constant problem and not just in the parking lot.
