Pay someone!!! I did my Pettit II last week and it took almost 10 hours to finish! But it was my first time and I learned a good bit. I spent 100 buck on supplies at Home depot. So I think I could have paid some one not much more and save a lot of time.

No your intercooler won't really require any sanding. I would suggest that you go to a cycle shop, motorcycle that is. Buy Semichrome. It's a German product That comes in a tube & box like toothpaste. It's a yellow and red box. It is by far the best stuff I 've ever used for hand buffing. You can buff it in with #0000 steel wool. After really buffing it good for an hour or two just wipe it clean with a yellow polishing cloth. You can re-apply the Semicrome then with the cloth if you want. You can get near chrome effects by doing this and it won't eat up your whole day.

Now cast alluminum thats another story.
