Somebody give me some peace of mind.

It's been a year an a half since purchase and I still need help identifying my frankenstein child I call an FD. I've got traits from R1, touring and base.

I've got a 1993 with tan leather seats, tan interior, cruise control, single oil cooler, R1 lip and spolier but yet no sunroof, no rear wiper, no front strut brace and no Bose speaker setup.

I've done the searching and my only guess is that the original buyer bought a base model with a few options from each. Calling the original owner is out of the question too, lost his Maryland phone number a long time ago. Help me out.

Most likely its a base. But to be honest, I wouldn't even bother worrying about it. At the age these cars are, the differences aside from the extra oil cooler are not worth the worry.

Heh thanks Mahjik, I know I'm being somewhat compulsive but it's embarrassing to go the your vBGarage and not know what exactly to put under "package". Oh well, case closed, Base it is.

Vin

The VIN should give you the information you need about type or model of the fd.

You might want to take a look at the VIN a little closer:

Now, you may be able to use the VIN, call Mazda and get a warranty report on the VIN which will have the package information (*IF* Mazda will do that for you).

Ah so I see you've asked the same question at one time, I'll call my friend up at Mazda later on today (right after I finish working on this damn 240SX)

The other thing you could do is get friendly with a service advisor/parts guy at your local Mazda dealer. You may be able to persuade them to run a vehicle inquiry on Mazda's system;this will give you all kinds of detail on who, what, where of your vehicle(by VIN).You can also have them check recalls and warranty work performed on your car.
