Hey all, I just want to hear peoples opinion on this. Ive been pondering as to what exactly I should do. I have a 94 touring FD with a few mods but I blew the engine this year do to overheating issues it was having. I have a friend that wants to buy it for 15k as is and im trying to decide if I should fix it or sell it for 15k knowing that I could buy a right hand drive FD for the same price but it would have near the 500 horse range, body kit, suspension etc. It would be far cheaper to buy a right hand drive FD modded then to mod my own FD. Im just not to sure as to which direction I should go. Any opinions/comments would be apreciated.

Since you know what's wrong with your car, you can fix it and be done. You could possible buy a car that has unknown problems and end up spending 2-3 times as much money fixing those unknown problems. You could also buy a different car and not have any problems.
If you want to drive a FD, keep and fix the one you have.

I don't see who would buy a fd with a blown engine unless it had significant mods and or was in impeccable condition.
Mahjik states a good point as when you acquire a new car you have no idea of where the car has been and what condition the motor is in. I would also never sell a car to a friend as there could be a later feud.

I'm sure he means 15k Canadian. Up here an fd in good condition with reasonable kms can sell for just over 20K. Still 15k for a 94 with a blown engine could be a good price depending on the condition of the car.
If you buy a RHD from Japan remember that it will be a '92 car as they have to be 15yrs old before you can bring them into the country. Personally, I find it hard to believe that any of the RHD cars coming in would produce that kind of power reliably for a lower price. As Mahjik said there's probably a whole lot of issues you don't know about. But hey, it's your money.

id keep the one you have, you already know about what its been through and whats wrong with it. if you get another one it comes with its own story just like the other guys are saying. it would be safer to stay with yours in the long run in my opinion.
