Some pics/feedback on Saxymans solenoid relocation kit

Well, ive got the solenoids installed. I'll start with the installation. Here are some pics of what i did:

Possible locations:

I decided to move the ignitor module and put the solenoids on the UK Passenger side.

Under the manifold now looks more cluttered, but when you get close, its just hoses with not alot underneath. I just removed my old solenoids from the rats nest, i didnt cut anything up

Part hooked up:

when i relocated the ignitor module, i basically just unscrewed it, pushed it down and earthed it to the original screw hole by using a homemade strap. Not sure if it needs earting, but i figured it was before so id do it anyway. Also, the bracket holding the two harness connectors to the ABS block was removed, its just 2 allen head bolts. I just reconnected the wires and pushed them down after too.

All hooked up:

The installation went fairly smoothly. I only had to do about 10 minutes ofmodifying to get this to fit my RHD when the kit was designed for a LHD.

As far as driving the car goes, its brilliant. No huge difference, but a definate feeling of more positive turbo operation. Boost is always quick to build, and the second turbo coming online is a lot crisper. I can compare it to before these solenoids the second turbo coming on was almost like a kickdown in an automatic vehicle, a fairly slow lurcy sortof manouver. Now the second turbo just switches on, there isnt nearly as much weight transfer to the front of the vehicle as the boost drops momentarily.

a good purchase! thanks very much to saxyman990, who maintainted a very helpful attitude. Cant compliment the vendor on the product enough really, the only problem being that i had to modify the kit slightly to get it to fit.

A worthwhile mod to my FD! Thanks very much Rob.

Just wondering but, on my old FC, there was a little "valley" behind the firewall where the windshield wiper linkage ran. i dont know if the FD has this but if it did, you could run the hose through there instead of along the firewall. it would be much much cleaner IMO. looks good though.
