Hi, Can anyone tell me the difference color dot or numbering labelled on the charge control and charge relief solenoids? I have a bunch of used ones, and looks like one has a yellow dot and one has 2 white dots on them, can anyone help? THanks

They are all interchangeable, the six or seven solenoids back to back at the bottom of the rack are the same model number. Now having said that, if you need to know the color coding, I believe I wrote them down last time I took them out. Let me know if you need that info and I’ll be glad to look for it. The filters can be removed and or relocated to match your configuration.

Right. Those dots are just there for, whatever. I just move the filters around according to what I see on the vac diagram.

Interesting!! So do you mean I can swap out the charge control and charge relief solenoids and it would not affect the boost pattern? What about the emission solenoids like the EGR and Switching and such? If what you told me was true above, I can literally switch out the EGR with the CC solenoids and swap the filter, and it would be the same? Any difference between the CC and CR solenoids as they are located differently???

Thanks

No difference whatsoever among the ones lined up on the rack. Just pop off the filter as needed. Just make sure you've got filters in where they are supposed to be there - dust getting sucked into the system can cause the solenoids to wear and stick.

Personally, I tested all my solenoids (new and old ones) using Disney's backpressure method, both hot and cold. I put the ones that performed snappiest through the largest range of pressures/vacuums in the turbo control positions (CC, CR, TC). I put the less impressive performers in the EGI / DT / Relief positions.

Didn't any of you simpletons notice that the color dot matched the color of the electrical connectors?
