If anyone is interested or keeping track, I just sold my FD today for $18K. See web page for milage/mods.

Also, it passed emmisions with K&N, DP, Cat-back, & M2 ECU.

Putting a deposit down on a Lotus Elise next week.

what type of classifieds did you use to sell it-- ebay, recycler, etc. you got a pretty good price. i'm selling mine soon and i'm wondering what'll net me the best price.

I hope so - and I'll actually be able to take it to the track (unlike the 7) - it's got no roof & therefore unlimited head room.

Hate to hear that you sold it but if you've moved on it's your own evolution. Enjoy your lotus. I'm sure we'd all love to see some pictures whenever ya get it.

Well, by the time they actually get to the states (April 2004), they will be called the S3 (the S2 is what's selling around the world now, the S1 was the original) - so I'll be getting an S3, which will likely look exactly like an S2 but with a different engine and more safety features.

The alleged MSRP will be $38,500, putting a deposit down now locks that price (no dealer markup). There will be 2500 imported the first year & word on the street is that they'll be running the Celica GTS engine (which is a shame because it's SO peaky). That said, there's a guy out here that already makes conversion kits to put a Honda K20 (jdm RSX Type-R) in them and he's had a word or two with Mazda about making a Rensis conversion kit. ... could be interesting ... FYI: his Exige (basically an Elise) w/ the 260 hp K20 does 0-60 in 3.9 and 0-100 in 8.8.

I'm hoping the new Suzuki GSXR/4 Roadster will be produced, which will should run easily run down a Lotus for about half the cost, and less weight to boot

it doesn't give a weight on the site, but it sure looks cool. That said, the day we see those for sale on public roads in the US is the day the NHTSA goes on a long vacation. Then again, maybe Suzuki will just put one wheel in the back & make you wear a helmet, like the T-Rex.

more FYI: the US Elise is rumored to weigh in at around 1800 lbs - a full 1000 lbs less than the FD.

How could you possibly see the wheels in my avatar? Small pic!? The wheels in the avatar are SSR Competitions in 8.5 x 17 front and 9.5 x 17 rr with 245/45-17 front and 275/40-17 rr Hoosier R3S03s. Comps are 42 mm offset. The Comps now belong to "Jaymz" Forbis

Hey Brian,

Good luck with the Elise. It's nice to see someone who knows what they want and just go for it. Congrats and hopefully we'll see some pics in the future from you.
