So I want an RX-7...

I have been giving a lot of consideration into buying an FD RX-7 lately mostly because one of my good friends has one and has been trying to persuade me to buy one as I am sick of my Mustang and I am stuck between Evo VIII or possibly RX-7 as both are realistic options for me at the moment.. I really just want to know what some of the problems are these cars have and what I would need to upgrade if I were to buy a bone stock one or what to look for if I was buying one that has been previously modded. (stock seals lifespan, stock turbo lifespan, transmission problems, clutch, rearend, injectors, etc.) I only know basic information about these cars and I am really just wanting you FD guys to give me a bit of helpful information from your experiences these cars, thank you.

Do a search of the 3rd Gen Archives section. This issue has been discussed many times and there's a great deal of information already available.

BTW - If your thought is to use whichever car you choose to get as your daily driver, get the EVO.

Good luck.

Ya. Get the EVO. Its not a good idea to have to rely on your FD to get you to work everyday, rain or shine. And it sucks gas. Well, depending how you drive. So, ya its gonna suck gas. Not very practical. And the EVO is a kick *** ride with a bulletproof engine and lots of potential, and a huge aftermarket.
