Smoking?
Smoking?
Ok, here's the deal. I get some thick white smoke when I start the car and it stays until the car is warmed up. Not so bad, but when I'm getting on it pretty good there's a push of thick white smoke when I shift. Car runs great, no problems w/ boost or anything. Looking to replace the seals. They're were done about 40,000 miles ago and the previous owner drove it hard. Am I even looking at the right solve or is there something else I should be looking for? This is definetely not something I've picked up yet. If it is indeed the seals, is there anything else I need or should do when I replace them. Give it to the newbie straight (lol). Thanks for the help appreciate it.
I just had my engine rebuilt 4,ooo miles ago and my fd smokes in the morning too. I have nad everything on my car prety much replaced . It might be that I have many bolt-ons with stock ecu and I also have no cats. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. But my car run great.

If its white steamy smoke that smells like coolant then your coolant o-rings have been eaten or the housing has been warped. If your running rich the smoke will be thick and creamy and smell like gas. If your blowing oil the smoke will be dark grey or some people say blue in color. Lots of times under acceleration you'll blow the blue smoke from older turbos that have worn seals and are blowing oil. Eventually your turbos won't sound very good or produce the correct boost until they finally give out.
From your description I think you need some turbos.
Good luck,

the coolant seals are bad if your car is emitting that thick of smoke on warm up,does the smoke smell sweet that is sure sign of coolant seal failure, also your car should not be pushing out white smoke during wot if anything it should be blackish blue signs of running rich.
you are going to need a rebuild or just buy a reman. motor either way you are looking at about 3,000 bucks but to be sure have a rotary mechanic do a check up on it first hope this helps.

Mine smokes a buttload in the morning when I pull her out of the garage. It's just condensation in your exhaust that forms when it cools down in low temps. I imagine your neighbor in the minivan has the same thing.
You have an aftermarket exhaust?
*edit* just realized it happens after you drive away.
