smoke

Ok i just got my car in december, it had 105,000 miles on it but the engine was rebuilt and street ported at 100,000. The pervious owner had done most of the reliability mods. He also Removed the PCV valve. The cats have been hollowed out also. When i start the car when its cold it idles up to 2000 Rpm for about a min then drops to normal(around 700) it also smokes when i start it cold untill the engine warms up. The car runs rich. and im not loosing hardly any oil, abou 1/5 quart every 3000 miles. The turbos are still stock, never been rebuilt, and sometimes i dont get full boost out of the second turbo on WOT but when i let go off the gas and hit it agian it goes back to normal. Could this smoke be caused a turbo going bad, missing PCV valve, running rich, or somthing elise?

missing PCV valve could let oil get into the intake manifold, running rich could cause backfires and flames (and I guess smake since oil is injected in)

also isn't it true that all FD's smoke when cold?

not sure about your boost problem though, that might be turbo related, but who know swhich area with the stock twins

sounds like your (i cant remember the name of the ******* part) anyways the thing that controls the transition of boost dosent sound like its opening correctly, someone chime in and name it.

a little smoke is normal at startup, the car is set to run rich stock, and they burn oil since it is injected into the chamber via the mop.

All right cool, just checking, making sure its nothing serious. Other than the loss of boost sometimes can the flap not functioning right cause anything serious? Plan on going to single Turbo in the near future anyway.
