smoke
i just bought a 94 rx7 i has a few mods which include full stainless exhaust and an upgraded computer cold air intake. It has a new crate motot with only 650 miles on it. Upon start up i get a little puff of white smoke. Its not all the time just occasionally. I get a little more if i sit i first gear at a stop sign for a few seconds. I know this white smoke can be coolant which is very bad but its new motor . please help.

does the smoke go away after the car warms up?
mine lets out a little white smoke for a while, and than clears up after it reaches normal operating temp. and i was concerned also, but many other rx owners say theirs do the same thing.
my car builds up a ton of condensation, in the dp, mp, and muffler, i guess bc the car gets so hot, and takes so long to cool down.
that my 2 cents

Is it white or is it greyish? My car did had the greyish smoke when I first got it after start up and I had the same concern.
It lasts only during startup, has no sweet smell, and my coolant level is good. And from what I have read, if it's coolant, it's very white, and smells sweet.

MOST FD's smoke upon startup, especially when cold. It's totally normal. I have a brand new motor, with new turbos, and it's been cold here a few mornings in a row, and I get a little exhaust smoke on startup.
i drove it toschool and let it set for an hour and when i left i got stuck at a crosswalk . as i gave it gas i noticed a small cloud of smoke behind me. It appeared to be a grayish color. i have tinted windows it is hard to tell. whether or not it smells sweet i will have to get back with you on that

For starters: let the car cool down for a couple hours to allow the system to de-pressurize. Then remove the filler cap and take a look at your coolant level.
its quick and easy, and will answer some questions.

and when you look at the coolant level, take in account if you have EVER changed/noticed the coolant level before. that way you can try to determine if you coolant level had decreased and blowing out your muffler.
