single centre stud wheel fixings?

Guys,

Ive always fancied a set of those single nut wheels, you know the ones like on the JGTC cars.

Are there any conversion kits around? Does anyone here have them?

Call Pettit racing. They had their SpeedGT car set up wth centerlock hubs, and as I recall can set the conversion up for youy if you're really interested. It's about $900/corner. That's just the hub... then you'll need wheels and possibly brake rotor hats to match.

It's pretty cool, but I hope you want it pretty bad for that much money. The TSW kit, as I recall, was just a bolt on thing that worked in conjunction with a particular wheel, and not a true centerlock.

That sounds interesting, but wouldn't it add weight considering the stock knuckle is built for a 5 lug? Even for a true racer you'd have to decide if the cost in lap time is worth any time spent in the pits.

Is that really the only advantage? Less time to mount & dismount the wheel given that it only has one lug? No safety/performance advantage?

And this may be a dumb question, but can an exiting wheel be converted from 5 lug to a single lug?

Kodiak Racing wheels makes center lug racing wheels here in the US. You can probably find racing wheel suppliers there in the UK with similar offerings. Richeyracinggroup.com has them here.

You'll have to try race car suppliers for the hubs as well. I think here in the US colemanracing (and others) has center bore hubs for this type of conversion but I doubt anyone has it in the exact measurements for an FD off the shelf

Probably not Ramy...I think it would compromise the design integrity of the wheel...

If you really want to do it right look up Riley technologies, they're hub has become somewhat of a bench mark in sport car racing it has been used in everything from trans-am to LMP. BBS and Fikse have off the shelf wheel centers matched to it. of course you will have to custom machine your uprights to accept the larger bearing's or go with a Riley upright and adapt suspension to match.
