Simple Interior Trim Question

Does anyone know of a source for those little metal clips that secure a bunch of the trim in the car? I was fixing up my guage wiring today and noticed I was missing 3 on the center trim piece that sits around the shifter. I checked my dealer today when I went to go get spark plugs, and was informed that they can only get them when the order the trim piece.

Thanks guys, Dave

They're not looking hard enough. I've ordered individual screws/etc through the dealer. Have them turn the microfiche over to you and volunteer to do the research if need be. Otherwise, might want to try Autozone/etc to see if they have something close. They usually have a good asssortmnet of fasteners/clips/etc.

Are you sure they're gone. A couple of mine came off and fell down between the tunnel and carpet and were really hard to find. I ended up using a small mechanic's magnet to get them out. Just a thought.

O'Reillys and Autozone usually have clips like that or very similar to them anyway. I've picked up lots of stuff like that.
Worth checking out, anyway.

Yeah, they are gone as gone can be. I took apart all of the trim in that area, and there isn't anything below that for them to fall into. I think they have been gone since I got the car, since one side has always stuck up a little. Nothing in the carpet either.

I'll check out Autozone today as well. I thought it was a standard part, but the geniuses at Mazda informed me otherwise, even the guy with the FC parked out front.

I bought a bunch of them when I started doing my Bose replacement projet and discovered the previous owners were not very methodical when they removed trim pieces. Got them from the Mazda dealer.

I know who Ray is. He has my card on file and knows my name when I call (????).

No luck today. I finally got out to Autozone but they were closing on me. I'll have plenty of time tomorrow, so if I can't find them at an autoparts store, I'll get some part numbers from Malloy.
