Silencer for N1 Single or RB catback for quietness
I'm looking to quiet my car up some without too much hassle. I have an Apexi N1 single catback. I also have a hi-flo cat but the car still is somewhat loud. I like the look of the RB exhaust and I've heard it has a mellow tone. The N1 silencer is a quick fix but you lose top-end hp with it. Anyone know how much hp you lose with the silencer and does it really quiet the car up?
youll lose power with the silencers...i will only have them in if I know I wont be at play. its definitely a difference...once they are out its like being with yer girl without a jimmy...it sucks wearing the hat.
have you heard the rb? you might like the pettit as well.

I kinda figured it would cut out power - you never know when you're going to come across that Z06 or Supra - not a good time to a have restriction in the exhaust - might have to check into that RB = never heard the Pettit though
I don't know if there are silencers available for the RB (at least the Duals). I've had the N1 Dual (w/silencers), and currently have the RB Dual on there now.
The N1 Dual has bolt holes to secure it's silencers, the RB does not have anything I can see of. If there are silencers, it uses some other method of securing them on.
I can say that with a DP and hi-flow cat, the N1 Dual w/silencers is ok noise level wise, but was way too loud (even with silencers) when I went single turbo. Never really drove it hard w/o silencers, so can't comment on hp loss, but I'm guessing it's a bit.

I've got the N1 /w silencer, dp, and usual exhaust stuff. It sounds like crap with the silencer in but you will have more low-mid torque than w/o it. W/O silencer your top end will really be noticably better and it sounds awesome. It really sounds like a monster uncorked.
I don't have a boost controller or a large enough wastegaste to have an open exhaust, (stock non-seq. turbos /w Petit ECU) so I run the silencer
It's about 3-6 dB quieter than w/o the silencer... that's a HUGE difference! During street driving it almost half as loud, but it also sounds like the car's really congested and needs some tums!
