Sikky diff brace?

Anyone have first hand experience with one of these? Only info I am finding is from 2015 and some criticism about the brace potentially causing cracking of the floor due to how it's mounted. Would this be something to be concerned about with only high HP cars or drag?

Probably best to stay away from anything that could potentially cause structural damage. If you haven't seen anything since 2015, it's probably for a reason. Besides, there are alternatives available...but I'm assuming you already know that.

Yeah I got a lot of info from my other thread. But I figured there isn't too much info on the sikky brace since sikky is mainly for LS swap guys. I'm pretty sure I'll go with a replacement PPF, diff brace and transmission brace but I just wanted to get as much info as possible before making a decision.

Looks more like a ppf replacement but doesn't look particularly beefy...

Yeah. That is for swaps where a new transmission gets rid of the PPF.

It works fine, and is better than most other options out there that retain the stock diff. But if you still have the stock transmission, stick with the PPF.

I've had one in my jz fd for a couple years now with no problems. Granted its all stock and I daily it, I haven't any problems. Not entirely sure how it would cause the floor to crack though. The mounting seems pretty even with the load and it uses mount points that would otherwise be used for bracing the subframe. Its a nice part.

Just installed it. Will be reviewing it soon on MotoIQ.com's Project FD RX-7 Restomod.

if it works with an LS engine then I’m kind of doubting that even a stout 13B is going to tear one off.

thought Howard Coleman has one maybe? edit: no, he has the Samburg, sorry
