"signature" on housing after rebuild?

I have an engine that I bought from a guy years ago that said it was a direct pull from a rhd front clip. I put it in my FC and ran it no problems for over a year. I pulled it a few weeks ago to clean it up and noticed on both housings the letter "K" stamped.
Just curious if its a normal stamp or if its someones "signature".

Oki, just checking if it was a factory stamp or not. engine runs great so I'm not concerned either way

it is actually a factory stamp. i'm not sure why mazda stamps certain parts with a "K" but it is common on many parts to find that stamp in various spots. i just found 2 rotor housings with it glancing them over quickly.

i find it on rotor faces, rotor sides and rotor housings.

Odd haha, thanks!
Instead of making two threads, I'll ask my other question in here.

Is it normal for one housing to get more carbon build up than the other?

not usually. if one was doing more work then yes, or if the injectors weren't serviced and one was fouling it might appear "cleaner" than the other.

Talking

Off topic... I worked at an aerospace company, and one of the techs built satellite equipment. His "signature" on every flight unit was 'GPSUYA'... some of those units are still "up there."
