should I make these?

just wondering if anyone would be interested in these covers for the front of the engine made in Carbon Fiber. This pic is not of one I made, but I can and will be able to do this and any other custom pipe set-up. They are made with vinylester resin which is impervious to heat and chemicals? LMK what you guys think?

I think the only problem would be one that would fit with the majority of intercooler setups and stuff. How the intercooler is situated in the car makes a big difference.

I was thinking of making some in polished aluminum years ago but no one appreciated the function and time it took to design. I sold the original one so its floating around somewhere.

Hey Jason,

I would love one in CF but I know the one in the pic would not work with my GReddy smic. I would need it cut out for that. You'll probably run into a lot of customizing?

I can make them to fit and I appreciate all opinions, thats why I asked. Rotary Experiment I value your statement. So far I have had good luck with people. Damari your stuff is more than half done, should be back to ya soon. I estimate the front spoiler lip is aprox. 250% stronger than stock now that it is reinforced with kevlar and wrapped in Carbon Fiber. I have pics to show the difference I will post later. Yeah if you were to make a cardboard template and send it to me or a Damian style heatsheild type template, I can make it. That should not be too hard for guys and gals to do, shoot I used to build cardboard Empire state buildings for my GI Joe when I was 10. Each and everyone would be custom and one of a kind. I can put logos and graphics. I can do two types of CF and 5 hybrid colors. Do people need covers/heatshields for their rides. I estimate about $100.00 if the darn material prices stop rising. just wanted to hear from the masses.

Bling!! Just like the FEED UIM cover. Cover up all that stuff that is not so nice to look at. That's about it I think. Just like over half of the stuff they make for this and every other vehicle out there. Looks! customization is what its all about. Jack, you know I am game for anything as long as I have the power to do it.

It is supposed to act like a radiator cooling plate if I am correct.

I am dying to see! Cannot wait to get them back. My car is naked!

Making a template sounds easy enough. That is a great price for the amount of work that goes into them!

LMK if you do decided to go with it. Or if you and Jack have something even better up your sleeves!

I agree with Dale, I have one made for my blk FD and my Greddy FMIC/fluidyne rad. I think this would have to be mod specific and for that reason, you need a car there to make it fit perfect. I have an idea of something that you could make.. I'll email you!

Most front mount intercoolers leave a gap between the radiator and intercooler. A good portion of air will flow out through this gap and bypass the radiator. The panel seals off this gap to make sure as much air as possible goes through the radiator. I had mine sealed to the radiator with foam weather stripping and used quick release clips similar to those used on hood pins to make it easily removable. If you want to see your radiator, make it out of lexan.

That was the prototype. I later had it powdercoated to match the car.

Hey, they are not worth making. I tried once but no one really wanted to spend money on somethign that doesn't have such a great function. They do have functions but not enough to spend money on. Although, mine were a little over priced the price will have to be very low to buy them. If someone still wants one let me know they are $200.00

great feedback guys, I didn't want to throw out mis-information so I waited til someone said something. I figured it blocked the air from escaping. I also see this will need to be custom, either awesome blueprints or car in hand. So lets talk elbow and pipe to connect to the IC? I am getting the urge to make some true performance parts and want a good idea. I am just starting my molding career so please make it practical. I got a great idea from Phil, now lets see what else. I am already working on a split duct for the SSAC MED SMIC (because thats what I have) in CF, I might offer those since the other duct GB is not working out as people expected. I have the capability to mold and make heat resistant and chemical resistant parts. So LMK what performance piece(s) we need? I am trying to go to the next level!!
