Short Shifter?

Im buying a short shifter for my car but i dont know which one to get. I have the choice of the RX7 store short shifter or the B&A short shifter. Which one is shorter and better for quick fast shifts. Should i go for the more exspensive one or the cheaper one. thanks.

shortest one would be the pettit shifter - cuts throws by 60%

Pettit shifter has the shortest throws. Everything else shortens by 1/3. The only thing different between those is the price. I'd save your money and go with a B&M. I have one on my car and it does its job well. If you want the shortest throw available, go with a Pettit, but the thing's expensive if you're buying it new.

Talking

correction the shortest shifter you can buy for an FD is
the stillway sequential drag shifter (www.jt-imports.com).
very very expensive but you bearly have to move it and it
shifts. like in a rally car. nice but if you ask me it takes
the fun out of driving a standard.

I have the B&M too and it is a big improvement over stock. It has a real rigid shift and is very high quality for the price. I did the install myself and it was very easy.

I got a Mazdaspeed one and shifts really nicely. As smooth as stock and very easy to install.

Maybe a stupid question but does it have a really shortened shift or is it up,up,up to up shift then down, down, down to down shift? In stead of the up,down, up down way.

I didnt know how else to word it so pardon my dumb phrasing

Unlike most short shifters, the B&M replaces the entire lever, mechanism and base, not just the lever and bushings. It's a nicely built piece. Almost a shame to cover it up.

I have one, and it's like a fine wine... it's getting better with age.
