is this setup safe?
is this setup safe?
my mods are in the sig.
here is my question:
i want to upgrade to the BNR stage 2 twins. is it going to be safe to run about 18 psi on them?
i have a stock motor and a pettit ECU and i know that the limit on it is 14 psi.
so if i added a Rebic 3 or 4 to controll 2 extra injectors will that be safe and enough fuel for 18 psi? or maybe more boost?
what do you guys think?

in what way would the pettit ecu not support the extra boost?
i'll have enough fuel from the additional injectors and i can get a 3 bar map sensor. (i'm not sure if its that simple)
also the ignition map on the pettit is agressive so it should be fine with higher boost.
any gurus reading?

First of all, nice work if you got 360/310 out of your current setup.
Perhaps things have improved, but high boost with upgraded stock turbos has not been a reliable setup in the past (the little stock turbo shafts break). Perhaps some careful BOV attention would help avoid problems. Or maybe someone figured out how to make these work.
A 3 bar map sensor cannot be used with the Pettit ECU. Using the stock MAP sensor might still work okay if the fuel map is extra rich at the stock MAP sensor limit (1.15 kg/cm^2, or 16.33 psi for my MAP sensor, but the rumor is that they can go to 1.2 -- mine doesn't). But yuck, its a big kludge that I would not want on my car.
I agree with Elmo -- the right way to do it is to get a PowerFC, bigger injectors, and some time with a wideband to tune the car. You are already in the "pretty much out of control zone" at 360 RWHP with the stock injectors. The Rebic and other trickery sounds like the kind of setup that you replace after popping an engine.

I've ran 27lbs on a bone stock remann. I went 10.73 @128mph on 20lbs. on a stock reman. Porting the motor only gives you a broader power range, nothing else. People have the misconception that a ported motor is a "must" for a single turbo or high hp application. This is simply not the case. It's all in tuning.
I suggest you get a stand along engine mgmt. system and do it right. Get your self a fuel rail and 2 1600cc secondaries a RRFPR, a nice FPR, and a nice fuel pump. After that some tuning and your set.
