serious BOOST confusion!!!! HELP???
Ok here are my mods along with my problem. I have a new stage three motor from Pineapple Racing, with oil mods, new housings, rotors, etc... I have new 99 efini turbo's, new oil injectors and lines, fuel injectors flowed and matched by Marren Fuel injection, magnecore 10mm. wires, ngk plugs, dual K&N air filters, M2 ecu, M2 downpipe, cosmo fuel pump, fluidyne radiator, short shifter, greddy cat back, greddy B.O.V., turbo timer, Jacobs Rotary Pro Pak ignition, ACT 9.5 lb flywheel, RPS street clutch, VDO boost, oil temp., and water temp., gauges. I have done a full silicone vacumm hose replacement, and all that troubleshooting misc. My motor from Pineapple runs beautifully, no leaks no sputters, no smoke, no oil or water consumption. My turbo's were brand new when put on my old motor the week that it popped, and they ran perfect so I know that they are not an issue.
Now here is my problem: I have finally properly broke in the new motor at around 1500 miles. Everything runs GREAT, temperatures are excellent, and pressure is on the money. But now that im able to boost I have a problem. The gauge reads 11.5-10-14to15 lbs., the spike is ok because I know I can fix that with my boost pellets or porting the wastegate. But when the primary comes on it does not pull as hard as it should, at 4500 rpm's at switch over it pulls like hell! So I figure ignition, the gauge reads that the boost is being produced but like its not sparking. So i have changed the igniter, plugs again, and swapped the coils and still the same damn problem. I am reading the boost from the UIM, so it is what the engine is seeing in terms of boost, but does not pull. My next step is to eliminate the Jacobs ignition, but that was on the car prior to the new engine and ran perfect. So im just about stumpped. If anyone can help please send me an email or post with opinions, Thanks to all...........Jamie...

Go through the troubleshooting guide -

Sounds like you may have a problem with the turbo precontrol.

I don't understand. Of course it pulls much harder when the secondary kicks in, it's 4 psi higher. Are you saying that at 11.5 psi on the primary, it doesn't feel as strong as you think it should? Or are you asking why you are only getting 11.5 psi on the primary?

yes, on the primary it produces 11.5 lbs. but it does not accelerate the way it should. I know that after transition there is more boost. It runs fine after the transition. Its like there is no spark on the primary...

If you had spark issues, you'd have problems at high RPM, not lower.
Do the turbos have the pills in the lines?

Without riding in the car, it's next to imposssible to troubleshoot over the net since you are building boost. If you weren't building boost, that would be other thing altogether.
I seriously doubt its an igition problem as that's usually on the high end of the rpm band, not the low end. If anything is wrong, you might look at the Turbo Control solenoids or the Charge Control solenoid. Either of those areas may mess with the responsiveness of the turbos without causing an overall boost problem.
