seq boost controller

I have my boost controller like the first version. With ths version I seem to only control the secondary turbo. If I use the second version will I control the primary too?

Also I understand that the secondary turbo can be turned up to 13psi with the correct mods of course. So can the primary turbo be turned up to 13 also?

Version #1 is technically the "correct" one, and will control boost from both turbos just fine.

What are your mods?

You either have a turbo control problem, a boost leak, or your primary turbo is failing.

I had a problem with boost spike using version 1 (I'm the guy who put that diagram together). I've been driving with version 2 for 5 years now without any boost issues on either turbo. I appreciate that version one is technically correct, however couldn't get it to work. There have been no adverse side effects from using version 2 (only positive).

mcf what was your response like compared with version one (like what boost at what rpm) if you remember? Also, what boost were you running? Do you see much difference in the transition spike behavior? After thinking about it a little it seems like this would affect prespool. I'm thinking as soon as the primary hits full boost the solenoid will effectively start prespooling the secondary, which seems like it might work alright. I admit I don't understand the sequential system as well as I would like to so I'd like to hear your observations.

Get an old school Greddy Profec B. Even when I ran twins it controlled boost just fine. By the way, how was the tuning?

Maximum,

You can read up on the version 1/ version 2 debate at http://fd3s.net/profec_install.html

As far as boost response - primary boost improved in my case (speed at which it came on, and maxmimum boost hit), transition may be slightly more noticeable, and secondary came on as with the stock setup. I run 15-16 lbs boost.

Sounds good MCF, I'll probably give that a try at some point. It surprises me that it would change how quickly primary boost came on, but I guess the more pronounced transition makes sense since it's not really prespooling as it was designed to.
