Sensor in the downpipe?

Hi there,

I am guessing the sensor in the downpipe is an O2 sensor?

If the sensor wire was damaged or broken, what would the symptoms be? Would the car run rich or lean, and would you get any error/warning message feedback on the dash?

Thanks!
