Pressure Regulator?

I read somewhere around here that someone was running a pressure regulator setup on 10psi to alieviate their bost not coming on after a hard first gear pull. Does anyway know anything about that? I can't remember where the regulator was supposed to go and I also don't know what kind of regulator to get.

Uh, you mean a boost controller?

If you're not holding 10psi, either you have a check valve problem or a sticky solenoid. Dave Disney documented that some solenoids can stick when running a lot of boost (like 14psi) and I've seen people using methods to drop the amount of boost the solenoids see.

Here's Dave's page on solenoid testing with more info -

No, it was more along the lines of if the solenoids see more than 12, then they stick. The regulator was used, I think, before the vacuum chamber so that they never saw more than 10. I'm wondering if that's what's wrong with mine at the moment.

Dale, I should've read further into what you linked me to. That is EXACTLY what is happening here. Thanks for that link, I'm going to try to find another TC solenoid now.
