Sell or not to sell

I think it's the time for a rebuild(motor)but I do have a dilema, should I put more money into it or just sell it.
The thing is I have already put alot of money and if I sell it as is I am gonna lose arm and a leg,the car is still drivable it just starts hard, and builds pressure in the coolant (seals)
My question is what do you guys think it's worth????
More info:
petit ECU
HKS 3'' down pipe
RB catback
Blitz air intake
Polished piping
Center pod gauges
Sony MEX-5DI
Greddy SMIC
simplified vac. job
new tires
90 k.
RB ovesized RI rear wing
silver&black
Profec-b

NEEDS
Motor - still runs
2nd gear synchro
2 rear bushings

hmm... if the motor were in good shape, being that it's a '93, I'd say $13-16K (if 2nd gear is really bad, it'd be on the low side of that). That's assuming that the paint and interior are good & it's never been in a wreck. no scratches/dents.

The fact that the motor isn't good takes away a good bit from that. At that point, it is *really* dependent on the condition of the rest of the car. If it's mint, you might still be able to get $13K out of it, if not, well, it goes down pretty quick from there.

I'd say it is an average condition, the typical, driver's seat little worn, couple dents(small onec)I might try to post it for sale and see what happens, hopefully it will not sell and I be forced to do rebuild.I love the damn thing............

If you are want it not to sell then why not just put a rebuild in and start driving it again.

Dude,

You and I should hang out. We could take the BUS around town while our cars are getting fixed.

Here's my post about needing a new motor: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=177144

I have to get a new motor. I can even think of getting rid of my car.

Well, something's gotta give. I was going to recommend buying a beater but since buying a house is more important - you might be better off selling the car and using the money towards a downpayment and a more "practical" car. You can always get another FD after buying your house - but instead of taking a car loan, you can take out a home equity line of credit to purchase it and write off all of the interest on it.

hey find me a deal like that motor for 1300 I am as well in the same boat as you are except I am rebuilding the stock twins as well. I would try to fix the motor and then sell it in excellent running conditions after it was properly broken in! It would probably be easier to sell as well! I am looking for advise on an intake and downpipe for my setup! (have any advise for me>)

Rebuilt 2 peice 2mm seals ($1,500)
street ported ($200)
rebuilt twins ($600- kit and rebuild local amchine shop)
(hks downpipe 72mm for $225)
(NEW! Trust Airinx dual intake filter system for $275)
( blitz guages boost and egt for $350)
( apexi fuel and boost controller $525)

I am going to break the motor in without the boost controller/computer! I plan on doing this by watching the boost guage very cafrefully for the car will probably want to build more than the stock 7-10-7 pattern!

I have not purchased any of these parts and would like to know if anyone can find them cheaper or has a better solution!

I am also looking for a diagram for the vac. hose simplification!

Good luck and sorry to take up your forum space hope it will stay on topic!

I say Fix the car then sell it you will get more money that way. If you sellit to theright person youmight even get more than you would ask. I think with mods that you got and a new motor you could get atleast 20k for it. Look around at auto trader and you will see.
