Seibon Scoot Replica

Well I just got a new Seibon Scoot replica. Looks great. Fitment is like stock. However...This hood doesn't vent SQUAT! Not sure why. Before anyone asks, yes I took out the rainguard to open the vents. I am thinking because the routing of the front scoop is not like the original or Rotary Extreme version. The air just comes in front and back out the extractors. I think it might also lessen the pressure difference between the engine bay and the fast moving outside air. So less air flowing out? Anyway, looks cool and but does not cool like I had hoped. Oh well. Any ideas?

Well my temps for the intake air and the coolant are the same. Still very high and when I park the car for a few minutes the temps still climb like crazy. It may be venting a tiny bit but not noticeable. Definitely not worth the money if venting is all you were to buy it for.

Bingo, I never liked the scoot hood for this reason.

Any hood that brings air into the engine bay is not well designed, IMO.

Not true! The hood worked great for me when I owned it. I did, however, have the Rotary Extreme version of it.

The problem is that the Seibon version is more about the form than the function. The vents are significantly smaller and they don't do a good job at venting at all. The VIS version is better in this regard, but on average fits like ****.

Rotary Extreme Scoot Hood is the ONLY way to go

It's still a good looking hood. It's really hard to say if my temps are ok. What kind of temps does everyone run for air intake and water say just cruising down the highway? I may fool around with the front scoop airflow to see if it makes any difference. I have a v mount I am going to put on anyway so once the radiator fans aren't blowing directly onto the intercooler it should make a difference.
